The Ancient Magus Bride Watch Order

Mahoutsukai no Yome, also known as Mahoyome, or The Ancient Magus’ Bride is a fantasy series by Kore Yamazaki.

Wit Studio produced a three-part prequel original animation DVD (OAD) series and an anime television series.

Then studio Kafka produced a second three-part OAD series and a second season of the anime television series.

So here are the watch order:

1. The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star (2016)

The three-part OVA series will chronicle a story taking place before Chise meets the Magus.

3. The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm (2021)

Just prior to Chise becoming a part-time student, during Cartaphilus’ brief nap… Chise receives an invitation to the academy, and she, with the help of Elias and the others, begins preparing.

One such busy day, a spriggan arrives at their home on a strange horse, bringing news that “something is wrong with this Wild Hunt.”

Gabriel, an ordinary boy who’d just moved from London, was bored. Of his situation, of being parted from his friends, of unfamiliar land. Of everything. He was staring through his window, as if to escape from it all, when he caught a glimpse of tobacco smoke.

When he ran outside to chase it, the impossible happened: his world began to intertwine with the veiled world of the mages.

4. The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 (2023)

The second season of Mahoutsukai no Yome.

Chise was able to accept Elias and herself, if not necessarily everything about her situation. After Cartaphilus fell back into a slumber that would not last forever, Chise was able to go back to her regular life. Then she receives an invitation from a mutual aid organization for mages called the College.

Under the British Library exists a secret society of mages. Encounters and interactions with people are about to open some new doors. This is a story about saving yourself to save another.
