Arknights is a free-to-play tactical RPG with tower defense mobile game developed by Chinese developer Hypergryph. Available on Android and iOS platforms and features gacha game mechanics.
The game is set in the dystopian, post-apocalyptic future setting of the planet Terra, where people exhibit kemonomimi features – characteristics of animals or mythological races. Natural disasters leave behind a valuable mineral, originium, which infects people with a progressive disease, oripathy, but also allows them to also use magic called “Arts”.

In the land of Terra, natural disasters of unknown causes have been occurring irregularly in many areas. Therefore, the majority of the people, in order to escape those natural disasters, came to live in mobile cities developed over the years.
The Originium left behind at the site of such Catastrophes, has led to the rapid progress of civilization due to their immense energy. But it also brought something else with it — an incurable disease called Oripathy.
Because the bodies of those with Oripathy gradually crystalize and become a new source of infection at the time of death, in many countries, the Infected are subject to persecution under regimes of segregation and forced labor.
Those who were oppressed by the governments are starting to rebel. Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company researching a cure for Oripathy, takes up their arms and starts a conquest trying to save all the people from the disease.

Rhodes Island is a pharmaceutical company that endeavors to find a cure and solve the problems that follow in the disease’s wake, and in an attempt to put a stop to the revolt of the terrorist organization known as Reunion Movement whose ultimate goal is the salvation of the Infected, Rhodes Island has formed a contract with the Yanese city of Lungmen and continues its mission there.
However, Amiya has found herself despondent since their battle against Skullshatterer, unable to accept the fact they were unable to save Misha.
In the meantime, Rhodes Island deploys a reconnaissance squad to an abandoned city discovered in the Lungmen countryside. There, the squad notices a strange phenomenon unfolding before them…
